Application Overview:
Adobe Photoshop CS3 / CS2
Adobe Photoshop CS3 / CS2 web tools make it easy to build component pieces for your web pages or to output complete web pages in preset or customized formats.
Layers and slices to help you design web pages and web page interface elements.
Layer comps allow you to experiment with different page compositions or to export variations of a page.
Adobe Photoshop can create rollover text or button graphics to import into Dreamweaver or Flash.
Web animations are created with the Animation palette, then exported as animated GIF images or QuickTime files. The Web Photo Gallery feature quickly turns a set of images into an interactive web site, using a wide variety of professional looking site templates.
Note: Adobe ImageReady has been discontinued. Most of its core features have been included in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

This class is limited to eight people.
*As of January 1, 2008 all Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash courses will be on version CS3 unless otherwise indicated. If you are currently are using previous versions you can still benefit from attending this course.

Course Overview
Prepare and publish your images to the Web with Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe ImageReady CS2. Understand proper resolutions and file formats for on-line viewing. Optimize text, continuous-tone, flat-colour, and black-and-white images. Use the LiveView window to compare original and optimized images as you experiment with colour and compression settings. Create imagemaps and basic GIF animations. Learn to setup and export rollover images. Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is a definite asset.

- Understanding limitations for displaying images for the Web
- Choosing file formats and resolutions for scanning and creating images
- Preparing images for the Web
- Using various colour depths to achieve the smallest file possible
- Optimizing RGB images for saving as GIF format
- Working with palettes, including “Web safe” and custom palettes
- Understanding compression options for JPEG images
- Creating and testing imagemaps
- Experimenting with methods to obtain the best results for text, continuous-tone, flat-colour, and black and white images
- Previewing images in Web browsers
- Using the animation palette and the layers palette to create GIF animationsSpecifying delay and repeat options for playback and using the powerful
- Tween feature to automatically create new animations
- Slicing images and specifying different setting for each slice
- Creating basic rollovers
- Saving web pages for placement in other web layout programs
